지난 11월 13일 미국 테네시주 클락스빌-몽고메리 카운티 경제개발위원회(EDC) 관계자들이 동화 서울사무소를 찾았다. 클락스빌은 북미 배터리 산업의 중심지로 동화일렉트로라이트가 전해액 공장을 설립하고 있는 도시다. 방문단은 데이비드 델린저 경제개발위원회 CEO를 비롯해 오스틴피·내슈빌 주립대학 및 테네시 응용기술대학 관계자 등으로 구성됐다. 이들은 클락스빌에 진출한 한국 이차전지 관련 기업들을 탐방하며 직무에 대한 이해도를 높이고, 고용 창출과 우수 인력 양성을 목표로 한국을 방문했다. 동화에서는 김원배 동화일렉트로라이트 운영총괄과 실무진 그리고 동화기업 인사본부에서 방문단을 맞았다. 간담회는 회사 및 비즈니스 소개, 전해액 생산 공정 및 직무 소개 순으로 구성됐는데, 중간중간 활발한 질의가 오가며 주제에 관해 심도 깊은 논의가 이뤄졌다.
Meeting on promoting exchanges and cooperation
the Clarksville Economic Development Council of Tennessee, USA, visited Dongwha's Seoul office. Clarksville is the hub of the North American battery sector. The guests included the council CEO, David Dellinger, and officials from Austin Peay State University, Nashville State Community College and Tennessee College of Applied Technology. They visited Korea to learn more about Korean makers of rechargeable batteries with a presence in Clarksville in order to create jobs and train human resources. At Dongwha they were welcomed by Dongwha Electrolyte COO Wonbae Kim and working-level employees. The meeting consisted of the introduction of Dongwha, its business areas, electrolyte production and operations.
