목재 시장 선도하는 동화의 보드∙건장재 기술력
지난 11월 동화기업 보드·건장재의 경쟁력과 친환경 기술력을 인정받은 수상 소식이 이어졌다. 먼저 2024 목재산업대상에서 ‘국립산림과학원장 표창’을 수상, 11월 6일 수여식이 진행됐다. 동화기업과 국립산림과학원은 2020년부터 목조 주택용 건축 재료에 관한 공동 연구를 진행하며 구조용보드(SSB)를 개발해 수입에 의존하던 목질 자재를 국산화하는 쾌거를 올렸다. 이에 목재 산업에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 이번 표창의 주인공이 된 것. 시상을 위해 목재산업단체총연합회 김헌중 회장이 동화기업 중앙연구소를 방문했으며 이어진 간담회에서는 구조용 파티클보드 연구 동향과 목조 건축 산업 트렌드에 관한 논의가 이뤄졌다.
11월 29일에는 2024 건강주택대상에서 ‘환경부 장관상’을 받았다. 수상의 영예를 안은 동화기업은 SE0~E0 등급 친환경 바닥재 및 폼알데하이드가 없는 나프 보드 개발, 폐목재 재활용 및 재선충 피해목 활용 등 친환경 실천에 앞장서왔다. 특히 발암물질인 라돈 가스를 흡착·분해하는 접착제 시공 등 건강한 주거 환경 조성을 위한 그간의 노력을 인정받은 것. 앞으로도 동화기업은 보드사업부, 건장재사업부, 연구소 등 구성원 모두가 보드·건장재 제품의 품질과 기술력을 확보해나갈 계획이다.
Dongwha Enterprise wins wood industry and housing awards
In November, Dongwha Enterprise received awards in recognition of its competitiveness in the board and construction materials areas as well as eco-friendly technologies. One of them was an accolade from the director of the National Institute of Forest Science. The award ceremony took place on November 6. Dongwha Enterprise and the National Institute of Forest Science carried out joint research on construction materials for wood-frame houses from 2020. They developed a strong structural board to replace wood materials previously imported entirely from abroad. The award marks Dongwha’s contribution to the wood industry. It was presented by Korea Federation of Wood Industry Societies Chairman Heonjung Kim, who personally visited Dongwha Enterprise’s R&D Center. A discussion was also held about the latest developments in structural board R&D and wood construction.
On November 29, Dongwha received an award from the minister of environment for developing eco-friendly products, such as Grade SE0-EO flooring and formaldehyde-free NAF boards, waste wood recycling and the use of wood affected by pine wilt disease. In particular, Dongwha was lauded for its contributions to creating a healthy residential environment by using adhesives that absorb and decompose radon, a carcinogen.
