이해관계자와 시장의 요구에 부응하고 협력하기 위해 ESG는 이제 필수적인 활동이 됐다. 동화 역시 지난해 ESG팀을 신설하고 동화일렉트로라이트(이하 동화일렉)를 시작으로 ESG 경영의 첫 발자국을 내디뎠다. ESG팀은 장단기 ESG 경영 방침 수립과 평가·심사 대응 등 ESG 관련 현안을 관리하며, 현업 부서 및 ESG 실무 협의체와 협력해 세부 전략 과제를 수행해나갈 계획이다. ESG 실무 협의체는 ESG 관련 세부 과제를 추진하는 조직으로 동화일렉과 동화기업의 ESG 관련 실무 부서 중심으로 구성됐다. 지난 2월 열린 실무 협의체 발족식에서 협의체의 역할과 기능, 세부 과제 및 지표, 향후 계획 등을 공유한 바 있다. 한편 ESG팀은 ESG 변화 관리를 위해 사내 구성원들을 대상으로 관련 교육 및 캠페인을 실시하는 등 ESG 내재화를 위해 노력하고 있다. 동화일렉 홈페이지 내에 ESG 메뉴를 개설하고, 지속가능경영보고서 발간을 준비하는 등 대내외 커뮤니케이션 강화에도 힘쓸 예정이다. 앞으로도 동화는 ESG 활동을 꾸준히 전개하며 모든 이해관계자와 함께 지속가능한 성장을 도모해나갈 것이다.
Dongwha Electrolyte’s ESG activities for sustainable future
Dongwha launched ESG management at Dongwha Electrolyte by setting up the ESG Team last year. The ESG Team oversees ESG-related matters such as devising and assessing long- and short-term ESG management goals, and collaborates with other teams and the ESG working-level consultative group to carry out strategic tasks. The ESG consultative group is tasked with carrying out ESG-related projects. It consists of ESG-related teams of Dongwha Electrolyte and Dongwha Enterprise. At the group’s inauguration ceremony back in February the group announced its roles, functions, tasks, major indicators and future plans. The ESG Team, for its part, provides ESG training to employees and publicizes ESG activities. Dongwha Electrolyte has also opened a special section on ESG management on its website and is preparing to publish a sustainable management report as part of its efforts to improve communication within the company.
